LAST MONTH'S NEWS
Eleven members were in attendance at last months meeting. We had a great meal, including ham and all the trimmings. Everyone out did themselves making it a great feast once again. Members enjoyed the gift exchange, there were a lot of nice gifts. Emil would like to thank Beth for the Lottery ticket he turned out to be a twenty dollar winner. Also enjoyed was the Ugly Bird Contest won by Emil Kahler with his gray-green, flecked, bent tailed hen. At the conclusion of the meeting, the members enjoyed the sprit of the Holidays by spending extra time together watching "Paulie", brought in by Beth. Thanks Beth!!
Business items included a treasures report of $653.98 with $19.21 going towards hospitality and newsletter expenses.
Old business included the election of new officers, by-law changes and the voting in of placing a Bird Talk add.
New business included sample ideas for a new place to purchase bird seed. The best suggestion so far is the information Brian provided the club, from the Feed Barn. Look for a more detail in the Club survey section. SugarCreek Bird Farms will once again be holding an action on Jan. 24. Karen (club VP) will added along with Brian to our Club's bank account.
Bob was amazed by the clever tricks in the movie Paulie.

EDUCATIONAL TIDBIT
Many of you that have attended meetings over the past twelve months may recall that during every meeting Emil makes it known that he would like to improve production in his aviary. Since Oct. he has raised more birds then he did the first nine months times 2. According to him, he owes this drastic improvement to the new fluorescent lights being used. These lights were purchase at Wal-Mart and are under the brand name of GE (wide spectrum), plant and aquarium. These lights put off a purple hew that has worked wonders in the breeding habits of his birds. The best news is the are price at only $5.97.
PRESIDENT'S INSIGHTS
First nobody every joined a bird club and thought "oh maybe I should buy a bird," it works like this, a bird is purchased, information is needed and they come looking for a source of information. I.E. OVCBC So if we wish for our club to grow, we must put as many birds into new peoples hands as possible. Since we want our club to grow, join the referral service, sell your birds, and send the people to us.
Second what this club offers is help. In the past few months he have found a new feed store, better millet spray, and flight wire. By working together we can find solutions to our bird problems, making this hobby a successful venture.
